Tears streamed from the eyes of almost everyone in the little country church across the road. For over a decade, no one has witnessed this vast number of teenagers attending church, more so a funeral. The most feared, armed and dangerous enemy struck again – The deadly disease AIDS.
There are many ways by which one can be infected by AIDS. However, this disease can be prevented instead of praying for a cure. One way to keep oneself from getting AIDS is by abstinence. When you abstain from being sexually active outside of marriage there is no risk of the infection of the disease, since it is the passing of the body fluids that enter the body and make you infected.
Teaching about AIDS in schools, communities, groups and other organizations is also an important way in reducing this infection. By teaching the youths about HIV, we can prevent them from becoming infected. If we can teach people, there will be a better chance that they won't get AIDS. People should have the chance to learn about how to prevent AIDS, so that they know what they're up against and what it can do to their lives.
Another preventative measure of AIDS infection is by using condoms. Although condoms are not one hundred percent effective, they are safer to help reduce the risk of giving or receiving AIDS. Community and business offices can stock and distribute condoms freely and encourage sexually active performers to use them. Also, many drug users share in using needles. Not sharing needles will help to alleviate the chance of getting the AIDS virus. When these mentioned above happen, there will be no victims to be treated. Thies means that the government is not forced to pay to treat these kinds of patients. They can deal with other more relevant and helpful challenges. The country will eventually develop faster. Therefore, it is better to prevent AIDS than to treat it.
